Principal Product Quality Engineer

As a Principal SSD (Solid State Drive) Product Qualification Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will participate in taking products from design all the way to high volume manufacturing. This will involve analysis of both internal and external customer requirements, development of qualification plans to verify the product will meet those requirements, the implementation of new test software or testing methodologies and tools to facilitate the qualification, test execution, as well as some electrical and mechanical failure analysis to identify the root cause of qualification failures and the appropriate corrective action.

You will be:

Reliability testing for PCIe based NVMe SSDs for enterprise-level customer environments.

Report product defects and collaborate with other engineering groups towards resolution

Working with cross-functional / worldwide engineering teams to establish and refine the overall product requirements.

Leading and training the team of engineers in technical debug and data analysis.

Leading all testing activities as requested by the project leads.

Contributing to the development of new test and debug tools.

Expert in System-level and drive level debugging using software programs, oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.

Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for the overall qualification process and associated infrastructure.

You will have:

Experience working with SSDs (Solid State Drive)

Strong understanding of SSD architecture.

Experience coding in Python, C, or PERL.

Experience debugging issues on electrical/embedded systems.

Experience understanding of firmware modules (e.g., thermal throttling, power states, etc.)

Strong understanding of PCIe/NVMe protocols – prior experience will be a plus

Experience using an oscilloscope, protocol analyzer, or similar tools.

Experience working with different Windows and Linux operating systems.

Degree Required: Bachelors or Masters with at least 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$138,000.00 - $234,500.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
