Principal Program Manager will collaborate with R&D Engineering, Product Line Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Factory teams to manage Transceiver product development through the NPI process from design to prototyping, customer builds, NPI deliverables, customer samples and qualification, production transfer, and production launch.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with Product Line Management and R&D Management to generate development schedules that achieve key project milestones, NPI deliverables, business requirements, and customer satisfaction. Manage cross-functional team to procure material, assemble and test product, complete internal qualification testing, ship qualifiable samples to customers, and launch early-stage ramp in the factory. Escort Transceiver products through R&D NPI Phase Gate process, meet NPI deliverable, and deliver qualified products to the global Operations team. Primary team interface working with design team, internal support groups, operations team, and marketing; be a catalyst for engagement. Manage the project schedule, communicate status, highlight gaps to plan to stakeholders and management. Set, manage, and communicate expectations to the project team, management, and other stakeholders. Identify and manage project resource constraints, dependencies, and critical paths to accomplish the program goals; resolve issues. Manage material supply to ensure build configuration and schedule will support required NPI deliverables. Regular communication with global manufacturing and supply chain team members. Light travel for development activities: global team coordination, product transfer, and problem resolution.Education & Experience
BS/MS in an engineering or science discipline plus 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience with optical transceivers or components desirable. Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or Product Lifecycle Management processes. Experience successfully managing cross-functional teams, interacting with a broad range of functions, skills, cultures, and personalities.Skills
Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and risk management skills. Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills. Previous experience as an engineer in R&D or Operations a strong advantage. Highly self-motivated with a strong multi-disciplinary background is essential. Experience with Microsoft Office suite required. Experience with Oracle, Agile, and MS Project desirableWorking Conditions
