**Position Overview**
We are seeking an experienced Principal Program Manager to join our Transportation Systems R&D team! In this role, you will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of key programs within the transportation systems space! As a Principal Program Manager, you will work cross-functionally with technical and business teams to drive product development initiatives, ensuring they meet scope, timeline, and budget goals. You will be the key point of contact for partners, manaleadingh technical and logistical aspects of programs with high impact and complexity. This role will require a strong understanding of project management best standard processes risk management, and effective communication across various teams.
**In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be**
+ Lead sophisticated programs with high impact and high visibility in the transportation systems sector, driving program strategy and execution.
+ Partner with engineering teams, business leaders, and customers to define program scope, objectives, and deliverables. Ensure alignment across teams and departments to meet goals.
+ Identify and handle risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place to resolve issues that arise during the project lifecycle. Create contingency plans to keep projects on track.
+ Oversee all phases of the program from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
+ Continuously supervise project progress, conduct regular status meetings, and report to customers on key achievements, issues, and overall performance.
+ Mentor junior program managers and project teams, ensuring adherence to standard processes, fostering collaboration, and driving a growth mindset.
+ Propose and implement innovative processes to improve efficiency, communication, and alignment across teams for large programs.
+ Serve as the point of contact for key customers with regular updates and ensuring that their needs and expectations are met.
**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ Minimum of 8 years of experience leading high-impact programs. Proven track record of driving programs from inception through to successful delivery.
+ Strong understanding of risk management principles and demonstrated ability to successfully lead programs with significant risks, unknowns, and time-to-market constraints.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, balancing technical, quality, and business needs. Ability to influence decision-making at the principal leadership level.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and business information to customers at all levels.
+ Ability to analyze complex issues, exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques for resolution, and propose innovative solutions.
+ Proficient in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), with experience using platforms like Azure DevOps or similar tools.
+ Experience working with engineering teams, including software and hardware engineers, and collaborating with business leaders to ensure program alignment.
+ **Change Management:** Ability to lead change management initiatives and guide teams through transitions to ensure smooth program execution.
+ **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Familiarity with the transportation industry and related technologies (e.g., autonomous vehicles, connected transportation systems).
+ Master's degree preferred
+ Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience managing Agile projects.
+ Experience managing diverse stakeholders, including customers, internal teams, and third-party partners.
+ PMP, PgMP, or equivalent ccertification highly desirable
