Job Summary:
Mercury Systems’ Data Management and Microelectronics Line of Business (LOB) in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Principal Program Manager to lead our development program portfolio. This high visibility role is critical to the business and works across the LOB and other business units to drive development of new programs and accelerate new product introduction into production. Partnering with all functional teams spanning growth, product development, design, production, and sustainment, the PM will drive execution and innovation across the portfolio. Key responsibilities include partnering with Business Development to grow new programs across the product portfolio, manage current programs, author proposals to expand business opportunities, transition products to production, and assist with creating technical roadmaps that align with internal and external stakeholder needs.
Job Responsibilities:
You will need to collaborate closely with peer program managers in addition to all aspects of the organization – Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Planning, Finance, Contracts, Business Development, Product Management, and Mission Assurance (Quality). The program management team is tightly integrated and highly skilled. Close collaboration with peer PMs to advance program performance across the portfolio is highly regarded. This is a dynamic role in a fast-paced, energetic environment that requires proven experience in managing highly complex programs while displaying exemplary leadership. You must be comfortable working through areas of uncertainty, managing risks, capturing opportunities, and leading high performance teams to achieve cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives. Proven experience in leading program execution, financial control, integrated product team leadership, and customer relationships is particularly important. You will need to execute programs flawlessly and the role is integral to growing the business. Accountable for assigned product portfolio, which will be concentrated in the development area – financial, technical, schedule, customer, and growth. Collaborate with engineering, semiconductor partners, USG, and customers on technology roadmaps and new product introductions. Ability to track & manage KPI's and report to executive leadership. Experience with the capture management process, gate reviews, business cases development, and investment justification. Interact with suppliers and customers on a proactive basis. Exemplary interpersonal skills and achieving win/win outcomes. Exceptional presentation skills, across all levels of the organization --- from CEO to factory floor, both internal to Mercury, with customers, and various government agencies. Strong analytical capabilities coupled with good business savvy. Demonstrated record of having provided solutions to challenges.
Required Qualification:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or related technical field. 8+ years direct Program Management experience. Experience of program management principles including EVMS, IMP/IMS, WBS, R&O, program startup, transition to production, financial management, new product introduction, product development, production readiness, production execution, and program closure. Ability to travel 10%. This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
Preferred Qualification:
MBA or technical graduate degree (e.g. master of science or master of engineering) Demonstrated leadership ability in a matrixed work environment employing the principles of IPT leadership. An ability to make business and technical trades and provide specific recommendations to senior management, partners, and the customer's business leaders.
