Principal Project Engineer

Are you ready to help us make the future? As a Principal Project Engineer in the Heat Transfer organization, you will lead and manage large, complex engineering projects. You will coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective collaboration and project coordination. Your ability to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams will help align projects with business goals and customer requirements. By developing and implementing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, you will ensure efficient project execution and delivery. Monitoring project progress and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets will help maintain project efficiency and cost-effectiveness. In this role, you will impact the successful execution and delivery of engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Key Responsibilities + Lead and manage complex engineering projects to ensure successful execution and delivery, while ensuring alignment with business objectives and Honeywell Aerospace standards + Define and manage project scope, objectives, schedules and deliverables, budgets and resource allocation in collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders + Monitor project progress and ensure compliance to schedules, budgets and processes + Identify and mitigate project risks, implement corrective actions as needed + Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns + Provide technical expertise and leadership to project team to help resolve complex challenges + Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and practices + Champion for continuous Project Engineering skill development + Mentor and guide junior project engineers to support building a high-performing team + Facilitate various teams to solutions and agreements + The design, development and qualification of heat exchangers which meet customer and internal requirements + Implementing development and qualification test objectives, writing test procedures, and overseeing the preparation of test units and the conduct of tests + Lead preparation of Technical Position Papers to support In-Service Resolution Board (IRB) regarding field issues and quality escapes. + Lead proposal and new business development efforts. U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization YOU MUST HAVE + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited institution. + 20 years of product development in heat transfer equipment experience. + Strong leadership and project management skills + Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills + Proven track record of managing large, complex engineering projects + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment + Experience in risk management and problem-solving + Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including scheduling + Experience in leading complex engineering projects + Trusted advisor relationship with customers (both internal and external) + Influence others to accept new concepts, practices, deploy new approaches + Global workforce and virtual teaming expertise WE VALUE + Strong management operating system that facilitates communication. + Understand business objectives and possess the ability to interact with our customers. + Business acumen, knowledge of current and emerging practices, methods, and information relating to discipline and application within the industry. + Earned Value Management experience + Experience with Agile methodologies + General knowledge of aerospace products and services + General knowledge of Honeywell Aerospace procedures and guidelines + Extensive experience with heat transfer equipment + Good people skills and the ability to work effectively with other engineering organizations + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities + Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams + Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively + Adaptability and flexibility to manage changing project requirements + Passion for innovation and continuous learning Honeywell is an equal opportunity employer.
