The role
As a Principal Project Engineer - Signalling, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll manage Project Engineering team to successfully deliver on projects.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure implementation of project works are to the correct technical standards and work as part of project team to ensure safe and successful delivery.
Act as CEM (Contractors Engineering Manager) / CRE (Contractors Responsible Engineer) and Project Engineer where required and competent to do so Participate as a member of the engineering team in formulating delivery plans and budgets and in monitoring performance to ensure that the delivery targets and margins are fully achieved Manage the engineering and technical change control process throughout the life of all projects Ensure that changes to scope and specifications are managed and that risk registers and issues logs are robustly reviewed Review resource plans and change project plans to ensure maximised resource utilisation
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 3 days in the office/onsite and days working from home. You may be asked from time to time to provide weekend support, on call, to meet the business needs.
Essential experience of the Principal Project Engineer - Signalling:
Must be an experienced Contracts Engineering Manager (CEM) in Signalling. Successful record in project engineering Previous experience in mentoring junior members of staff
Qualifications for the Principal Project Engineer - Signalling:
CEM (Contractors Engineering Manager) and CRE (Contractors Responsible Engineer) qualified. IRSE licensed in a signalling category Chartered Engineer
