Primary Responsibilities
HDR is looking for a Principal Project Manager to join our Water Business Group team. Primary duties include planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of large or technically complex multi-discipline projects or programs. These projects or programs typically have fees in excess of $5 million and involve a large program / project team. This individual may be involved with the production and coordination of several programs / projects concurrently. They will establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings. Responsibilities will include alternative delivery opportunities directing and coordinating with multiple consultants, contractors, and agencies to help establish the sequencing of projects from proposals to completion. They will also be responsible for the overall delivery of large programs / projects and coordinate staffing and workload for delivery of programs/projects. They will work with clients and will likely be co-located with program/project teams. They will also work with appropriate internal management for project reviews, and will be responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures. The Principal Project Manager will be responsible for the training ofpersonnel as established by strategic plans, and will typically supervise large program / project staffs and act as mentor for less experienced project managers and technical staff while maintaining a professional engineering registration.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Civil / Environmental EngineeringPMP CertificatePrevious experience in being the Project Director or Program Manager on projects in excess of $50M in construction costPrevious experience in Design / Build projects, preferably in the Design Manager roleExperience with Water and Wastewater Engineering. Extensive knowledge and practice of project and program management procedures is desiredExcellent client relationship skills in addition to contacts/relationships in the Water/Wastewater Engineering industryWilling to travel to significant projects as necessaryLocal candidates are preferredLI-SM1Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering 15 years related experience A minimum 7 years project management experience Professional Engineer (PE) license MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus) Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
