Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer II
Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek a Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer to work on an initial 6-month contract in Houston, TX - possibly to be extended!

The Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer II is responsible for providing rotating equipment and machinery engineering support to International Operations.  This position requires interface with Operations, Projects, HSE and other functions to support the management of rotating equipment across its lifecycle. The role is responsible for technical support to the facilities by maintaining the technical integrity of the rotating equipment to ensure its safe operation, developing and optimizing maintenance strategies, improving equipment reliability and availability considering cost, provision of scopes for shutdowns and equipment overhauls. This role will report to the GoM Surface Engineering Manager and is based in Houston, Texas. 

Job Responsibilities:
  Provide appropriate advice on all aspects of rotating equipment including, operation, maintenance, overhaul, materials, corrosion, welding, mechanical and inspection technology Manage lube oil sampling and evaluation including sampling frequencies, sample analysis criteria, and oil sample analysis evaluation/review. Manage rotating equipment condition monitoring via online monitoring of all telemetry via PI or specific vendor-provided online systems. Analyse all vibration data via online tools such as System 1 or from third-party manual data collection. Review and analyze failure history relating to rotating equipment via work management systems. Review and update maintenance plans for rotating equipment. Coordinate and manage major rotating equipment maintenance. Review stocking strategies for spare parts required for optimal rotating equipment uptime. Lead regular meetings on rotating equipment reliability and ongoing issues with relevant personnel. Lead/support root cause analyses (RCA) on major rotating equipment failures including inspection of failed components. Identify opportunities for projects to improve reliability and implement/manage Management of Change (MOC) projects. Develop training on technical subjects related to machinery for operations and maintenance personnel. Conduct site visits to vendor locations for purposes of failure identification and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as required. Interface with other Asset Teams across the Rotating Equipment Community of Practice network to share and leverage collective knowledge related to offshore oil and gas rotating equipment.  
Skills & Experience:
  A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering a relevant Engineering discipline 10+ years’ industry-related experience, with a minimum 5 years supporting producing oil & gas facilities Experience that includes aerodynamic, machine dynamic, thermodynamic and metallurgical principles for all types of compressors, gas turbines, pumps, and other rotating equipment – together with an understanding of the performance of the equipment within the process. Experience in Incident Response (or willing to learn and participate) Experience with engineering design, construction, commissioning, and oil & gas operational background. Detailed knowledge of API and other applicable industry codes affecting the design and supply of rotating machinery. Familiarity with RAM and FMEA analyses. Demonstrates strong teamwork and influencing skills Demonstrates HSE leadership in a producing asset environment. Demonstrates high levels of autonomy and business acumen
