The Principal Scientist - Chemistry for Cytiva is responsible for leading the advanced chemistries design for Cytiva applications. This position is part of the Bioprocess CTO organization located in Cytiva Pensacola and will be an on-site position. What you will do: + This role is the primary engine to architect and drive our vision to be the world’s best company at developing novel chemistry tools (functional materials and chemical architectures) to drive selective separation science. This applies across many projects in Cytiva. This role is fundamental to understanding the link between the applications and the chemistry design and materials design concepts. + In addition to driving the chemistry design/materials, the role is also important to help deliver on time our most important projects for the business. In this, the Principal Scientist works hand in hand with the business and applications leaders, as well as using own network to identify critical technologies and deliver them into Cytiva’s future projects. + Works with universities to bring novel and advanced chemistry technologies to Cytiva. This area will focus on novel surface chemistries, novel separation technologies, advanced materials for membrane and surface modification methodologies. + Connects to other technical teams in device, materials, applications, metrology, and membrane teams. + Acts as a lead, support and core team member on projects – Both in research projects and NPDs. Who you are: + PhD in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry. + More than 5 years of post-graduation industrial or academia working experience. + Strongest track record of patents and/or publications with wide academic and/or private sector network; expertise in functional polymers chemistry/synthesis and modern organic chemistry; ability to create and drive technology platforms. + Understanding of the importance of the modeling, simulation and artificial intelligence tools in the design of new chemistries for a targeted application. + Understanding of design of experiment and data analysis/interpretation.
