Join our Translational Disease Modeling (TDM) group as a Principle Scientist and you'll support our R&D portfolio with mechanistic modeling or Quantitative Systems Pharmacology approaches.
This position Is based in Cambridge, MA.
Main Responsibilities:
Function as part of a team to develop and implement multiscale computational models of complex diseases based on detailed biological mechanistic knowledge.
Identify and leverage relevant preclinical and clinical data to incorporate into models.
Survey literature to gain understanding of critical physiological processes to be represented, and identify suitable mechanistic elements, data, parameters and assumptions to be included.
Analyze internal preclinical and clinical data to inform modeling activities.
Analyze simulation results and identify suitable strategies to resolve issues pertaining to model performance and accuracy.
Maintain extensive documentation of model development process, and data analysis.
Maintain quantitative systems pharmacology expertise through comprehensive education including attendance and participation in conferences, scientific workshops etc.
Communicate modeling predictions to key stakeholders.
About You:
PhD with an excellent track record of productivity in the areas of systems pharmacology/biology, computational biology, biomedical engineering or related field, as manifested by publications and scientific presentations in prestigious conferences (Ideally 2 years of experience)
Proficiency in mathematical modeling using differential equations and programming as demonstrated by hands-on experience in a variety of computational tools such as MATLAB, Julia and R (MATLAB preferred).
Strong commitment to on-the-job-training.
Experience in drug discovery/development a plus, especially in quantitative aspects such as bioinformatics or pharmacometrics.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
