We are seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Scientist to support cell therapy target ID and validation, and CAR-T/TCR pre-clinical research as a part of Regeneron Cell Medicines (RCM). You will be responsible for the identification and validation of novel targets for CAR T cell therapies while working closely with cross-functional teams to advance these targets through the development pipeline. We hope you are excited to be a part of our team growing our cellular immunotherapy programs, singularly focused on delivering transformative medicine to patients.
As a Principal Scientist, a typical day might include:
Independently designing and driving studies that provide the scientific basis for making data-driven decisions, (e.g., selection of top CAR constructs based on in vitro CAR-T cell characterization)
Performing standard T cell characterization assays (e.g., co-cultures to evaluate antigen-dependent cytokine release, target cell cytotoxicity, and T cell proliferation)
Contributing to the advancement of the CAR T program through innovative thinking, scientific expertise, and collaborative leadership
Contributing to new technology assessment and implementation tailored to specific CAR T programs
Conducting comprehensive searches of scientific literature, competitive intelligence reports, and internal data sources to identify and validate novel therapeutic targets
This role might be for you if you:
Enjoy fostering collaboration between research, development, and clinical teams to drive target identification and development of innovative therapies
Have the ability and desire to get results in multiple projects simultaneously and proven ability to effectively plan and organize work activities to meet schedules and deadlines.
Enjoy presenting data in a variety of team settings and actively participate in departmental meetings as well as cross-functional research teams
Have a passion for addressing the critical unmet medical needs of patients
In order to be considered for this role, you must have at least a Ph.D. in immunology, molecular biology, or related field and 4-5 years of relevant industry experience or a BS/MS with 8-10+ years of relevant industry experience may also be considered. We need a strong scientific foundation in or proximal to the CAR-T cell field and sound technical fundamentals for basic immunology and molecular biology workflows. Must have experience in mammalian cell culture, such as tumor cell lines and primary human cells, as well as in standard immunological assays (flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD/Luminex, cytotoxicity assays). Expertise in molecular biology techniques (cloning, cell line engineering) is required. Experience with FlowJo and Graphpad Prism; experience with Geneious is a plus.
