We are seeking an experienced Principal or Senior Principal Network Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team of technical professionals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems support team in San Antonio, TX.
Please be aware that this position will be contingent upon capturing program award, obtaining customer funding, and holding final clearances prior to start date.*
This requisition may be filled as a Principal or Senior Principal Network Systems Engineer
What you'll get to do:
Provide operations and sustainment for current and future platform baselines and associated continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline activities
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interface such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, bridges, gateways, etc.
Maintain and troubleshoot IP networking systems for AWS and hybrid-cloud systems
Assist with design and implementation of security into the network architecture.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Network Systems Engineer
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, a Master’s degree in a STEM or related discipline with 3 years of relevant experience, or Ph.D. in a STEM or related discipline with 0 years of relevant experience in Systems Engineering, Security Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
A current/active DoD Top Secret clearance.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance is required.
Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
Strong understanding of network security principles essential to implementing cybersecurity
Proven experience working within IT Systems Design, Deployment and Administration.
Experience with design and planning of network security systems to include software security, zero-trust principles, and best practices.
Understanding of the architecture, maintenance, and administration of Linux servers
Experience with network automation tools and scripting.
Troubleshoot virtual network issues, including firewall configuration, and resolve issues accordingly.
Experience in technical leadership role(s).

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or related discipline with 8 years of relevant experience, a Master’s degree in a STEM or related discipline with 6 years of relevant experience or a PhD in a STEM or related discipline with 3 years of relevant experience in Systems Engineering, Security Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Network Engineering is essential, as well as possessing a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent level of Cisco Certification
Certification or hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, Google, or similar)
Experience with cross-domain solutions (CDS)
Authentication & encryption methods/capabilities are highly desired
Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting in virtualized environments (VMs, AWS Cloud Instances)
Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience contributing to and/or making technical presentations to internal and external customers.
Experience with designing, deploying and administering cloud-based solutions
Salary Range: $97,500.00 - $146,300.00Salary Range 2: $121,000.00 - $181,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
