Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for an experienced Principal AWS Developer to join our dynamic team. As a AWS Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, coding, testing, and implementing AWS solutions that align with our business needs. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the AWS platform effectively supports our operations and business processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and Git Administration and will play a crucial role in automating and optimizing our development and deployment processes. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager and will work from San Francisco location.


 

Responsibilities

Hands-on experience with AWS (or another cloud provider's) technologies, such as SQS, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, and Lambda etc

Experience building scalable systems and services in the cloud, including calling other REST services from within a REST service

Hands-on experience in Java, Node.js, Python development along with strong problem-solving skills.

Develop backend services in AWS using any programing language, preferably Python

Develop Integration applications/micro services

Develop API proxies using Apigee/aws API gateways

Contribute as a strong technical lead, who can guide the team through the solutions after reviewing with the Solution Architect

Drive and improve performance, scalability and security of applications

Actively participate in code reviews of own code and that of peers

Write test and debug programs and create Technical documentation

Work in fast paced development using agile methodologies

Adhere to Autodesk internal quality standards.

Experience in building, running and monitoring SaaS applications at large scale

Experience with multi-repo GIT code bases, REST-based web services, testing frameworks such as Blazemeter, shell scripts, automated CI/CD pipelines

Creating and enforcing engineering standards and practices, ensuring that team adheres to high-quality development principles

Architect, design, and implement high-quality, clean, and efficient code following best practices and development guidelines

Promoting a culture of metrics-based analysis and decision-making within the team

Ensure delivery of high-quality solutions by actively participating in quality assurance efforts

Working closely with stakeholders and product teams, requiring excellent collaborative skills and the ability to coordinate efforts across globally distributed teams

Troubleshoot and resolve complicated technical issues, providing guidance and solutions to the team

Proactively and continuously evaluate and address issues related to performance, stability, scalability, and extensibility of the systems

Research, prototype, and implement new ideas, technologies, and patterns to solve complex technical challenges

Deliver results that meet product user stories with a high level of quality and customer satisfaction

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Strong Hands-on experience with AWS with services such as SQS, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, Lambda, ELB’s, AWS RDS, Dynamo DB, AWS API Gateway etc

Experience designing and building RESTful APIs using Microservices architecture

Must be proficient in at least one Programming Languages like Python, Java, JRuby, APEX etc.

Working on Integration with CRM applications will be desired

Exposure in any Integration Tools like TIBCO, Apigee, ETL, MuleSoft etc is desired

Demonstrated technical leadership experience such as being an architect or tech lead for high impact projects, comfortable defining technical solution

Excellent interpersonal communication skills

An innovative and collaborative approach with a commitment to engaging with engineers

Preferred Qualifications

Experience deciding when to use architectural, integration and software design patterns

A team-player, self-motivated, autonomous, empathetic with a result-focused passion to deliver an overall solution

Experience in mentoring peer engineers.

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $141,400 and $228,800. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
