The Role
Fidelity Investments Workplace Investing (WI) organization is seeking a top-tier software engineer to join our team within Stock Plan Services (SPS) Technology tasked with taking our market leading equity compensation platform to a global market. The engineer will provide technical leadership during the construction, execution and support of a multi year service delivery roadmap following the agile development methodologies, modern architecture patterns, and the JAVA technology stack in support of program objectives. This role demands significant collaboration with members of various business and IT groups throughout the lifecycle of a typical project. We're looking for software engineers that enjoy a collaborative environment and have a passion for releasing high quality software through iterative software development practices.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring 
•    Education and Experience
o    Bachelor's degree or higher
o    10+ years of software development experience
o    8+ years total OO development experience
o    8+ years of Java EE development experience
o    Experience working in a scaled agile delivery model
o    Investment/financial services experience is highly desired 
Technical Skills 
o    Demonstrated experience with a number of the following concepts and technologies is required:
o    Server-Side technologies including Java 8, J2EE, JSP/JSTL, Servlet
o    Domain Driven Design (DDD)
o    Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment using Git, Jenkins, Docker, Udeploy
o    Client Side technologies including JavaScript, CSS, Ajax, JQuery, Angular 2, Node JS, HTML5, Spring MVC, Spring Core, XML Integration with SOAP WebServices, Spring-WS, REST Services, Jersey 2, Jackson 2, Apache Camel
o    Development tools like Eclipse, IBM RAD, Spring Tool Suite, Web Storm
o    Cloud technologies including Docker, Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes, Rancher
o    Building SOAP and REST services using JAX-RS, Jersey, Swagger, Spring and Jackson frameworks
o    Building test suites using Junits, Mockito, Jersey Test, SOA Test. Cucumber, Karate
o    Developing distributed applications with multi-site multi-node deployments
o    Developing applications to be deployed in clustered environments on IBM Websphere and Tomcat servers
o    Developing applications using in-memory and distributed cache technologies like EhCache and IBM XtremeScale.
o    Security for SOAP and REST services using SAML 2.0 and OAuth 2.0 technologies
 

 Primary Responsibilities
o    Build and lead the definition of system architecture, detailed solution design and document complex solutions on a platform dedicated to high scale processing of large amounts of data. 
o    Care about cycle time and use Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) practices, tools to rapidly deploy changes to customers while minimizing risk using practices like A/B tests, blue-green deployments, and feature toggles.
o    Create and maintain high quality service documentation
o    Write concise and clear technical specifications based on analysis of complex business requirements
o    Have effective communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in significant discussions.
o    Coordinate multiple development work streams through integration and ensures architecture is scalable and extensible
o    Define and support development environment while adopting industry standard methodologies and tools
o    Ensures code reviews, unit testing and integration and performance testing is completed efficiently and effectively and guide the technology delivery framework to be entirely automated Testing and deployment.
o    Align with business partners and management team in evaluating current systems and making decisions on future development.
o    Mentor and direct team members on technology and specific design; Own issues and provide end-to-end solutions.
o    Continuously evaluate and prototype new technologies within developer & test community to understand business value and feasibility.
o    Digital mindset, and fluent across technology components including API Services development and consumption using modern frameworks and open source technologies.

Stock Plan Services (SPS) administers equity compensation programs on behalf of public and private sector companies offering various compensations programs such as: Employee Stock Purchase Plans, Restricted Stock Awards/Units, Stock Option Plans, Stock Appreciation Rights and Performance based Awards. Currently SPS services over 1.6M participants employed by over 300 clients and spread out in 150 countries. The business is looking to further expand in the international equity compensation market, focused initially on western European countries and companies based there. As part of this business initiative, we are extending our capabilities to enable a truly global platform.
