U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Principal Software Engineer – Business Banking (Multiple openings) in Irving, TX.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division small business banking. Design and architect scalable, reliable, and secure solutions for our business banking platform leveraging cloud technologies, with a focus on Microsoft Azure. Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, software engineers, and data scientists to define requirements and drive the implementation of architectural solutions.Lead the developers in creating robust scalable solutions, following best practices, and taking advantage of Microservices architecture.Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and relevance to business banking platform.Be the point person for design and strategies based on business requirements, long-term strategy, and creative design. Works with compliance and risk team to mitigate the risks in architecture designs.Perform application development analysis, design, development, testing, maintenance, and support of applications and APIs developed using REST frameworks on Java, Java EE/Springboot.Participate in Enterprise Architecture Review Council to get appropriate approvals for the proposed designs and solutions on the business banking platform projects.Establish best practices at the architecture level in implementing the projects with CI/CD integrations using Jenkins/EKS/Cloudbees and Azure.Develop comprehensive documentation not limited to conceptual data flow, component integration diagrams, system context diagram, technology deployment diagram, use case diagrams, for multiple applications or subsystems within business banking sector.Exhibit relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards and performing source code management according to software development best practices using Git and Bitbucket.Provide technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.Will use the following tools, technologies, and methodologies to perform the duties of the position: Agile/Scrum methodologies; RESTful data APIs; Java EE design and development; Java/Springboot; JavaScript; Cloud native development in AWS, GCP or Azure; streaming technologies including Apache Kafka and Spark; NoSQL databases including Cassandra and MongoDB; Jenkins/Cloudbees, Apigee, Istio, Kubernetes, and Rancher; containerization tools including Docker.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology and 5 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) payment processing application software development experience.

Required Skills/Experience:
 

Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: 1) Full life cycle payment processing application development including design, coding, testing, deployment, and support using Agile/Scrum methodologies. 2) Writing unit tests and integration tests and deploying applications to TST/UAT and Production environments. 3) Designing and implementing backend multithreaded Java modules for payment processing and integration with other payment processors. 4) Designing, developing, and delivering highly available, robust, performant, and scalable database code and RESTful data APIs. 5) Java/Springboot; JavaScript; Cloud native development in AWS, GCP or Azure; streaming technologies including Apache Kafka and Spark; NoSQL databases including Cassandra and MongoDB; Jenkins/Cloudbees, Apigee, Istio, Kubernetes, and Rancher; containerization tools including Docker. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.

This position is with U.S. Bank National Association, a U.S. Bank company. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $149,781 - $155,000. (#LI-NDI #LI-DNI #LI-DNP #DE-DNP).
