The OpenShift team is looking for a software engineer that wants to help re-invent the way development is done. Being part of the OpenShift team is about passion for technology and development, balanced with the responsibility of running a hosted service. We are building a team and a service that will change how development is done, leveraging the strength of Red Hat technologies and services, hosted in the cloud.
To be successful on the OpenShift team, you need to be excited to work in a fast paced and sometimes chaotic environment with the goal of making our end users and customers more effective with every release. We love what we do and we work hard to be the best - it's not the typical 9 to 5 position.
What you will do:
You will be a key member of our team pursuing Networking Ingress, DNS within the OpenShift environment. In particular you will be part of the team responsible for our next generation Ingress organized around the community driven Gateway API specification. You will ultimately be an OpenShift expert on all things in this space , from helping decide the most effective frameworks to focus on, to integrating the right ecosystem of modules needed to complete the developer experience. You are an inquisitive self-driven person, but one who is inclusive of others and more than willing to help make them successful. You will liaise between multiple teams within Red Hat as well as with the open source community; thus you are well spoken and have excellent written English language skills which will be used to communicate with other open source community members, OpenShift engineers, Product Managers, and management located across the globe. From the requirement decisions that you help understand and prioritize, you will also be an engineering contributor to OpenShift to deliver the functionality needed.
What you will bring:
Here are some technologies that you would be working with on a day to day basis. You might not know everything on the list, but you are capable of picking them up as needed:
Everything you could imagine Kubernetes
Familiarity with OpenShift is an advantage
Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora
