Position Overview

As we transition from a world of files to that of products powered by cloud data services, we’re building our core underlying cloud fabric and kernel that is comprised of massively scalable, always-on, globally-deployed cloud services that underpin our customer facing systems. In order to provide a seamless cloud data experience for our customers we’re building a platform that bridges existing products and solutions with our cloud data platform.

We are seeking a highly proficient principal software engineer to help in building our client-side data platform. The successful candidate should have a strong sense of ownership and be able to drive projects through completion. They should be well versed in building highly optimised SDKs and components that can be used in cross-platform environments.

ResponsibilitiesWork on a scrum team of about 7 – 10 team membersDemonstrate impact and influence across teams outside of the direct organizationContribute significantly to large-scale, intricate projects involving multiple engineers and cross-functional teamsSpearhead solutions for uncertain milestones, from requirement clarification and scope planning to ensuring deliveryInfluence cross-functional teams and contribute to large-scale projectsBe a role model for working in the production codebase for Autodesk Platform Services (C# / .Net Framework & Core) to deliver high-quality, secure, and stable codeDevelop, troubleshoot, test, and debug C# .Net componentsEngage directly with customers to provide technical support for complex issuesBe a technical leader who influences technical decisions across multiple teamsWrite technical design documents, participate in design and code reviews within the team, across teams, develop estimates for tasks, and document codeWork with an extended team of software developers, QAs, and Product Managers and Architects in the US and other worldwide engineering sitesParticipate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily scrum meetings, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectivesAct as a Product owner for the team; balancing requirements from different sources like PM, Architectural roadmap, and service/component improvementLead team initiatives and drive key business outcomesNavigate uncertain milestones from concept to successful deliveryLead technical discussions and incident resolutionsMentor team members and foster a culture of knowledge-sharingAct as a Subject Matter Expert, make significant contributions to designUtilize expertise in .Net and C#, along with a strong grasp of key design principlesDesign solutions with a focus on performance, scalability, resiliency, and cost

Minimum QualificationsProven experience as a software engineer, with a focus on .Net, C# & WPF.Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture.Excellent knowledge of .Net programming and C#.Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.Knowledge of test-driven development.Mastery in software engineering tools, including Git/GitHub & Jenkins & experience with build and deployment processes.#LI-MR2
