Overview
This position is a member of the STRM - Security Threat and Response Management team which is responsible for security monitoring and response functions for Mastercard, accounting for both physical and cyber security events. Engineer would build new software capabilities, support existing solutions, provide technical oversight and lend its expertise to the program.
Role
•\tDesign secure, reliable, and scalable solutions for globally distributed customer facing products.
•\tCollaborate closely with the global Solution Architecture & Engineering team to define principles and best practices
•\tEngage with wider Mastercard Architecture & Technology teams to ensure alignment on the wider technical strategies and policies within Mastercard
•\tSupport development teams and work with stakeholders, promoting agile development
•\tCreate a culture of technical excellence and innovation
•\tResearch, create and evaluate technical solution alternatives for the business needs using current and upcoming technologies and frameworks
•\tThey are hands on all the time and collaborate by writing interfaces, tests; unit or acceptance and architecture fitness functions, outside of meeting rooms.
•\tWork with business/product owners to architect and deliver on new services to introduce new products and bundles
•\tParticipate and contribute to team’s agile process and decisions. Understand and contribute to Prioritization. Drive prioritization decisions and trade-offs in working with product partners
•\tDrive the architectural design, including dependent services, service interactions, and policies
•\tTake ownership to improve the customer experience of an entire set of services/applications sold as products or bundled services
•\tContribute and lead Squad initiatives by engaging and mentoring Engineers at all levels to improve the craftmanship of Software Engineering
•\tSimplify and improve the cost/benefit of a function/service/architecture strategy
•\tConsult across teams and across organization lines to identify synergies and reuse opportunities
•\tParticipate and contribute to Principal review architecture meetings and drive resolutions to enterprise-wide challenges and regulatory needs
•\tWrite recommendations for job promotions based on an unbiased view of one's accomplishments
•\tConduct technical interviews for hiring engineering staff and raising the performance bar

About You



•\tHands-on experience in designing solutions and full stack development in modern technologies for large enterprise technology platforms and systems.

•\tHands-on experience in coding Microservices in Java, building UI/UX, frameworks such as React, Angular, spring boot, RDBMS, Oracle and event driven architecture.

•\tExperience in deploying applications using CI/CD pipelines, docker containers & Kubernetes to Cloud platforms.

•\tKnowledge with Pivotal Cloud Foundry or any other cloud platform AWS or Azure or GCP is preferred.

•\tHas experience designing and implementing solutions focusing on the non-functional concerns – Performance, Scalability, Availability, Extensibility, Supportability, Usability

•\tOperate with urgency, fairness and decency to address challenges and solve for new opportunities.

•\tCapable of working under pressure – navigating complex initiatives, competing priorities and customer requirements.

•\tStrong communicator to maintain internal and external alignment.

•\tFamiliar with cutting edge industry trends and thorough understanding of development methodologies and standards,

•\tAbility to manage objectives and pipelines, build business cases, define success metrics and interpret P&L to optimize the business.

•\tAbility to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
•\tHas skills to promote and coach teams on take on full stack development and facilitate end-to-end service ownership
•\tHas skills to engage engineers across Technology organization to promote standard software patterns and reuse of common libraries and services
•\tHas experience in leading and coaching teams to perform software planning and estimation for large scale complex programs
•\tHas skills to drive trade-off discussions to set right development capacity based on value drivers e.g., regulatory, security, new business, market parity, technical debt
•\tHas experience in design and execution of automation across multiple business areas and provides guidance on best methods and tools.
•\tHas skills to succinctly articulate architecture patterns of complex systems, with business and technical implications, to executive and customer stakeholders
•\tHas skills to define and drive advanced chaos and other operational testing practices to test points of failures, monitors, and system behaviors under adverse conditions e.g., resource spikes, network congestion, component or infrastructure failure
•\tExperienced in agile and modern SDLC practices: Scrum/Kanban/Continuous Delivery/DevOps/Quality engineering, and the delivery situations they are used for
