**Job Description**
BAE Systems is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting an acquisition program for theNuclear Command, Control, and Communications System. The successful candidate will provide program and project management support the Strategic Automated Command Control System (SACCS) Acquisition Programs. This program is designed to extend SACCS systems life and transition into the follow-on system, known as Sentinel ICBM System (formerly Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD))
Our team includes existing staff with extensive expertise in the current Minuteman III weapon system and actively participates in ongoing studies and assessments for future systems updates.Duties will include but not limited to the following:
+ Use engineering principles and programming languages to create software for end users.
+ Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications.
+ Properly document engineering during the design process.
+ Author test scrips in various languages.
+ Evaluate existing code to ensure proper architecture.
+ Support software administration, security, configuration, and developmental security operations through deployment.
+ Interface between project stakeholders (internal and external).
+ Reporting project status, as requested by government customer.
Potential candidates will validate the abilities to accomplish the following activities while demonstrating strong leadership attributes of a team of subject matter experts accomplishing the same:
+ Demonstrate strong leadership in ethics, safety and security.
+ Attend internal and external meetings as required to cover both business items and customer requirements.
+ Review and approve all correspondence delivered to customer as deliverable item.
+ Follow all required processes especially the peer review process to ensure quality of products being delivered.
+ Accountable to the Program Manager for tasks/assignments.
+ Shall serve as a focal point for individual tasks/projects.
+ Directly support government leadership and maintain strong customer relationships.
+ Maintain other duties as assigned.
This position is located at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ BS in Software engineering, computer science, information technologies, data processing, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, physics, or mathematics with 7 years of direct experience (5 years with MS degree)
+ At least 3 years of progressive technical experience.
+ Working knowledge of computer software and software development.
+ Knowledge of high-level (Java, C#) and low-level coding operations C, assembly, etc.).
+ Able to write code in various languages (SQL, Java, C#, etc.).
+ Working knowledge of agile software development and experience with Linux, Windows, SolarWinds, SIEMs, and other industry software.
+ Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills.
+ Active US DoD Top Secret Security Clearance granted within the last 5 years.
+ Demonstrated strong leadership skills specifically: setting expectations, managing work, and leading individuals and teams.
+ Demonstrated self-discipline to plan and prioritize their own work with successful results.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
+ Due to its special-access, classified working environment, this position is only located at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, and is not conducive to telework schedules.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Previous work with DoD, USAF, or other military organizations.
+ Experience with technical systems development.
+ Prior experience with improving software.
+ General knowledge of MS Project, Primavera, or other scheduling tools.
+ General knowledge of requirements management tools.
+ General knowledge of model-based systems engineering processes.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $105254 - $178931
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
