Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an amazing talented, experienced Software Developer/Engineer whose role will be essential to the design, implementation, and delivery of high performance, secure, mission critical solutions. We seek an engineer that is versatile, display leadership qualities, and are enthusiastic to tackle new challenges as we continue to provide the military with cutting edge tools. For this position, the Software Engineer will architect, analyze, design, and implement advanced capabilities for fire control systems at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.  The role includes design and implementation of software modules for new fire control systems based on established requirements, with strong consideration for interoperability and software architecture openness.

Architecture, design, development and test of software modules for U.S. Army tactical fire control systems in an Agile development environmentLead software feature teamsRequirements analysis and traceabilitySoftware configuration management using Git or similar toolsSupport periodic design reviewsSupport Agile sprint planning activitiesAuthoring design, interface, and user documentation

What required skills you’ll bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field10+ years of experience in software engineeringExperience developing in:Software Architecture, especially of MicroservicesMicroservices implementation (Kubernetes, Docker, Spring Boot, containerization)C++JavaJavaScriptTest software / test frameworksAlgorithmsExperience with Development, Build and Configuration tools for example the Atlassian toolset (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Confluence)Understanding of, and experience working within, Agile Software DevelopmentExcellent organizational, communications, problem-solving and people skills, be a self-starter, and enjoy being part of, leading, and contributing to a hard-working team.Must have the ability to quickly learn and creatively leverage new technologies.Technical leadership and team leadership experienceProficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.  While a security clearance is not required, it may be in the future so candidates should have or have held a clearance or be clearableMust be able to travel.  Anticipated travel level 5%-10%.

Salary Range: 

$120,800.00 - $217,400.00
