About the role: As a Principal Software Engineer on the HUB team at Kyriba, you will serve as the technical leader responsible for the architectural vision and technical direction of Kyriba's connectivity hub, which handles critical financial communications and data transfers between banks, clients, and internal systems. Based in our Warsaw office and working closely with the core team in France, you'll be the primary technical authority driving architectural decisions, establishing technical standards, and ensuring the long-term technical excellence of the platform. You'll shape the evolution of our banking connectivity solutions while mentoring teams and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.

Essential duties and responsibilities: 

Define and drive the technical vision and architecture roadmap for the HUB platform

Lead system-wide architectural decisions and establish technical standards

Drive technical innovation and modernization initiatives across the connectivity platform

Provide technical oversight and guidance across multiple development teams

Design enterprise-level solutions for complex banking integration challenges

Establish best practices for system reliability, scalability, and performance

Lead technical due diligence and risk assessment for major initiatives

Mentor senior engineers and foster technical excellence within the team

Drive cross-team technical alignment and architectural consistency

Represent the team in high-level technical discussions with stakeholders

Lead resolution of critical production issues and architectural challenges

Guide strategic technology choices and integration patterns

Develop and maintain integrations with various banking protocols (SWIFT, EBICS, SFTP)

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience & Technical Skills:

10+ years of enterprise software development with proven architectural leadership in Python, Java, Kubernetes, Microservices, AWS etc.

Expert-level mastery of distributed systems architecture and design patterns

Track record of designing mission-critical high-availability systems

Proven experience in technical transformation and modernization initiatives

Expert knowledge of cloud-native architectures and enterprise integration patterns

Strong background in performance optimization and scalability solutions

Extensive experience with technical risk assessment and mitigation strategies

Proven ability to drive technical excellence across teams

Expert-level knowledge of modern software development practices

Demonstrated experience as technical authority in large-scale financial systems

Deep expertise in banking protocols and financial messaging systems

Deep understanding of security architecture in financial systems
