Principal Software Engineering Manager

As the **Principal Software Engineering Manager** , you will lead a team of engineers responsible for building and maintaining secure, scalable, and compliant infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security and compliance frameworks within the development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. This role involves strategizing, developing, and enforcing security, governance, and compliance protocols while promoting operational efficiency. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. **Responsibilities** + Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on DevOps, security, and compliance across the infrastructure and development lifecycle. + Implement and enforce DevOps best practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automation, and monitoring. + Develop and oversee security policies, compliance protocols, and governance frameworks to ensure adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA). + Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate security, compliance, and operational standards into development workflows. + Drive initiatives that promote the adoption of DevSecOps practices and security automation. + Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable, resilient infrastructure and ensure alignment with security and compliance requirements. + Mentor and guide the team, providing career development, performance feedback, and technical leadership. + Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats, compliance regulations, and industry trends to ensure that our technology remains at the forefront of innovation. + Develop KPIs to measure success and ensure adherence to organizational objectives for security, compliance, and DevOps standards. **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience. + Experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Security roles with experience in a managerial position. + Experience with Azure cloud and containerization technologies. + Deep understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, GDPR). + Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines. + A solid understanding of monitoring, alerting, and logging systems. + Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. **Other Requirements:** + Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: + **Microsoft Cloud Background Check:** This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Familiarity with AI/ML model management frameworks and integration of security standards within AI pipelines. Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
