As\na Principal Software Engineer in the Military Avionics Center of Excellence\n(COE) here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in developing\ncutting-edge software solutions for military avionics applications. Your\nexpertise and technical leadership will contribute to the successful design and\ndevelopment of software systems that ensure the safety, security, and\nefficiency of military aircraft.

You will report directly to a Sr. Engineering Manager in the Military Avionics\nCenter of Excellence and you'll work out of our Phoenix Deer Valley Arizona\nlocation on a Hybrid  work schedule.

In this role, you will have a significant impact on the advancement of avionics\ntechnology, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance. You will\ncollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer requirements and\nprovide innovative software solutions. Your technical expertise and\nproblem-solving skills will contribute to the successful implementation of\nprojects and the resolution of technical challenges.

KEY\nRESPONSIBILITIES

YOU MUST HAVE

    •  \nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical\ndiscipline such as computer science, electrical engineering, or related field
    •  \nMinimum of 12 years of experience in software development, preferably in\nthe avionics industry
    •  \nExtensive experience designing and debugging complex embedded software\nsystems
    •  \nStrong proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Ada
    •  \nExperience with software development tools, version control systems, and\ntesting methodologies

WE VALUE
 
    •  \nExperience with low level software functions such as boot or device\ndrivers
    •  \nExperience with safety-critical software development standards (DO-178C)
    •  \nKnowledge of military avionics systems and standards (MIL-STD-1553,\nARINC 429, etc.)
    •  \nStrong leadership and communication skills
