Position Overview:

 

Principal Solution Architect is a seasoned leader accountable for driving the overall strategy and execution of business development initiatives. They oversee a team of solution architects and analysts, guiding them in identifying, shaping, and closing new business opportunities. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of competitive intelligence, business requirements, and solution options, coupled with extensive experience in driving successful engagements across diverse industries and technology services. The Principal Solution Architect collaborates closely with executive stakeholders to develop and execute strategic plans that drive revenue growth and market expansion. They provide mentorship, coaching, and strategic direction to the solution architecture team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the organization. This position manages people. Work is accomplished without considerable direction. Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria in obtaining results. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment. Takes calculated risks with consultation from the expert. Up to 25% travel.

 

Primary:

Main contact between WWT and customer from beginning to end of a project, ensuring the team meets the customer's needs. Demonstrated ability to carry out consulting activities and methodologies leading to comprehensive discovery, analysis, and technical/business recommendations. Advanced communication skills, including business/technical writing and presentations; Advanced ability to present in-depth technical solutions. Self-motivation with the ability to motivate and energize a project team. Drive to exceed customer and project goals. Demonstrate ability to work successfully at all customer levels, from C-level executives to end users. Thoughtful leadership and innovative thinking. Positive customer service attitude. Drive additional profitable growth within the accounts. Develop relationships throughout the customer's organization to source new business. Participate with Sales during the sales process through Project Scoping Workshops (PSWs), presentations, solutions, and development of Scopes of Work. Provide the bridge between Sales and Professional Services as new opportunities are closed. Proven track record of customer focus, including the ability to foster long-term client relationships; Ability to successfully manage partner and vendor resources. General understanding of financial forecasting, reporting, and budgeting. Personnel management experience. Expert knowledge of project management principles and practices. Proactively detects technical deficiencies and develops practical, workable solutions to problems. Creates an environment where others feel safe to be open and candid and where conflicting ideas and opinions are regularly discussed.

Conveys the WWT vision in accurate and relevant terms that others can identify with, helping others see how things will improve. Stays focused on department and WWT strategic priorities and allocates their time and resources accordingly. Works with and through others to consistently break down barriers between departments. Works actively on mentoring and team development with more junior team members. Proficient in the aspects of project launch and closure. Ability to act as a technical expert. Good technical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Manage large or multi-disciplinary/multi-phased projects, including planning, staffing, budgeting, and delivery. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and tools to provide best-practice insight and best-in-class recommendations to management. Ensure that all components and their usage are consistent and compliant with all applicable regulatory, departmental, IT, and corporate standards, policies, and guidelines.

Management:

Manage project risk, up/cross-selling, and oversight of team deliverables. Contribute to the definition of industry best practice through subject matter expertise. Support the organization as required, including project scoping, developing SOWs, and responding to RFIs, and RFPs. Provide appropriate direction and feedback to team members. Ensure that the team identifies, documents, and drives resolution for program issues. Responsible for training and career development of Associate Consultants, Consultants, and Senior Consultants. Mentoring and ensuring that the Associate Consultants, Consultants, and Senior Consultants are hitting target utilization and quality metrics in programs they oversee.
