Principal SQA Engineer, Automation (EXTERNAL)

Job Description

Stride, Inc., has an opening for a Principal SQA Engineer, Automation (Fully Remote).  Job duties include: Reviewing user stories and other system specifications and ensure that they are clearly written, unambiguous, complete, and objectively verifiable providing appropriate feedback and recommendations for improvement as necessary;  Defining testing strategy and plans for multiple teams on large initiatives verifying changes to applications and estimate the effort required;  Documenting test cases to verify that the software meets the specified requirements, including all alternate flows and negative tests, not just positive tests for the "happy path”; Creating appropriate test data as needed to support the software verification, including the use of automated tools or scripts to generate or import test data after database refreshes;  Automating the execution of the software verification as much as possible, striving to maximize automated test coverage and minimize the manual effort required to deliver high-quality software; Documenting any defects clearly and concisely, including details on how to reproduce them; Working with defects throughout their lifecycle, verifying their resolution by the development team as well as enhancing regression tests to account for them in the future; Collaborating with members of multiple Scrum teams to understand their test automation needs, incorporate those into the roadmap for our test automation tools, and support those Scrum teams in applying automation tools to their projects; Working with Scrum teams to monitor, track, & report metrics to quantify test automation and software quality for your applications; Using metrics collected to produce reports & dashboards to provide other stakeholders in the development & QA Process, including Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and others with the information and insights they need about the quality of software being produced; and Participate in team code reviews, both reviewing code/tests created by others and submitting. your own test cases, test data and test scripts/automations for review. 100% Remote position.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.  And 5 years of experience in a QA Lead, Principal QA, or any occupation in which experience was gained.

Experience must include:

5 years of experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including testing processes and methodologies.5 years of experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Java) and practices.5 years of experience testing complex software such as Microservices, including both back-end integrations and Web Applications (testing browser compatibility and identifying cross - browser support issues).5 years of experience working with SQL databases.5 years of experience working with Web Technologies such as HTTP, FTP, and REST.
