We are seeking either a Principal DevOps Engineer or a Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer to join our talented team. This position is in Redondo Beach, CA, and offers both domestic and international travel opportunities.

The Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software (SW) Integrated Project Team (IPT) is a large restricted group executing across both Development and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) tasks. The software Engineering IPT focuses on the development and sustainment of several mission operational software product lines, as well as the development of new capabilities as coordinated with their restricted SCI Customer.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and architect CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo to streamline software buildsOversee and optimize the administration of Atlassian tools, ensuring reliability and performanceDesign and implement automation solutions using Ansible for auto-deploy and configuration management.Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and KubernetesContinuously evaluate and improve automation, deployment, and monitoring processes.Define and implement software version control processes, policies, and procedures.Mentor junior DevOps Engineers

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal DevOps Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree

Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer: 8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with Masters; 3 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree

Active Top Secret clearance with a periodic review done within the last 6 years at time of application, and the ability to obtain SCI access prior to start dateExtensive experience in CI/CD pipeline setup and automation for software buildsStrong expertise in Bamboo, Nexus, Docker, and KubernetesProficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, YAML, Perl or similar).Experience working with Linux-based infrastructureHands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and bamboo specs.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK StackFamiliarity with security best practices in DevOpsExperience in working with microservices architecturesExperience with developing software using agile processes (Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban)Experience setting up SonarQube or Fortify and integrating them into the build Pipeline.Security+ CertificationCurrent SCI access

Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
