Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Financial Planning/ Sr Principal Financial Planning Analyst to join our growing team of diverse professionals at our sector headquarters in McLean, Virginia. This position will be a part of the Defense Systems Financial Planning & Analysis team.
Roles and Responsibilities
Perform variance analysis and identify key drivers of financial performanceSupport sector forecast and planning (AOP/LRSP) processesPrepare sensitivities analysis to evaluate risks and opportunitiesProvide analysis and insights to support executive reporting and decision-makingParticipate in process improvement initiatives/Digital TransformationInteract with personnel and management at all levelsOther ad hoc duties and projects as assignedBasic Qualifications
Well-organized, schedule-driven, and ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlinesStrong analytical skills to support variance reporting and quick turn ad hoc analysis for leadershipProficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPointDemonstrated ability to work independently, requiring minimal guidance and supportAbility to work on-site in McLean, VirginiaQualifications for a Principal Financial Planning Analyst (Level 3):
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 9 years of accounting or finance experienceWill also consider:Bachelor’s degree in an Accounting or Finance discipline with a minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experienceMaster’s degree in an Accounting or Finance discipline with a minimum of 3 years of accounting or finance experiencePHD in Accounting or Finance discipline with a minimum of 1 year of experienceQualifications for a Sr Principal Financial Planning Analyst (Level 4):

Program Control Analyst experience is a plusExperience with financial forecasting/budgeting and variance analysisExperience with financial planning/reporting tools (SAP S4 and Cognos IBM planning analytics)Strong verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and relationship building skillsPrior experience and success interfacing with multiple functions and varying levels of stakeholdersAerospace/Defense industry experienceExperience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau)Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00Salary Range 2: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
