Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Integration & Test) in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting our Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU). This role is for a Ground software engineer to support Application Management (AM) Software Development. **What you’ll get to do** : As a Software Engineer on this team, you will support the Application Management team where you will design, develop, document, refactor, test, and debug applications software for a Ground Segment. Ultimately, you will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission. We have multiple Systems Software positions across the Ground program, on contract to deliver the ground segment for a restricted space program. This role is for an experienced Python software developer where the focus is to support the Ground development efforts. This role is for one experienced full-stack software developer willing to do both frontend/backend work noting that the role will primarily focus on the backend. This individual must have Python experience The successful candidate will have Python Software development experience, with the ability to digest changes and synthesize them into working designs, generate efficient code according to the specifications, adapt to changes as necessary that are driven by bugs or specification updates or the customer. The candidate is expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment, to be highly self-motivated, reporting information to leads and the customer. The individual is expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a very collaborative and fast paced environment that continues to grow. This position may be located at either our Morrisville North Carolina, or Fairfax Virginia locations. (Compensation varies per location) **This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.** This requisition may be filled at either a Principal level (level 3) or a Senior Principal level (level 4), depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment. **Basic Qualifications** + Must have an **active** U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance **at the time of application** + Must be willing to submit and favorably succeed a polygraph + Minimum years of experience needed to be considered: + Level 3 (Principal): + 5 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's + 3 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's + 1 Year of relevant experience with a completed Ph.D. + 7 Years of relevant experience with a completed associate’s degree + 9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required) + Level 4 (Sr Principal): + 8 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's + 6 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's + 4 Years of relevant experience with a completed Ph.D. + 10 Years of relevant experience with a completed associate’s degree + 12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required) + Must have experience on all of the below: + Development experience with Python. + Docker/Podman Experience + Hands-on experience in deployment with Kubernetes + Experience with microservice architecture + Familiarity with any automated Python-based testing framework (Pytest/Behave preferred but any python-based framework works) + Familiarity with JavaScript + Experience with AWS services + Experience with RedHat Linux to enable development of software Python. **Preferred Qualifications** + Positively adjudicated CI or FS poly + STEM degree + Automated Testing (Gherkin, Robot Framework) + Experience working in a cloud development environment + Vue.js experience To better support our employee’s work/life balance, most NG worksites support a 9/80 work schedule. Explore your future and launch your career today. #definingpossible **Salary Range:** $100,300 - $165,500 **Salary Range 2:** $124,900 - $206,000 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
