Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Principal or Sr Principal Cyber Systems Engineer for a new and exciting effort located at Melbourne, FL. We're looking for a highly motivated, team oriented, individual that understands requirements engineering, cybersecurity, MBSE disciplines and their importance to our mission. The candidate will be responsible for influencing the secure design and operations of a cloud-based infrastructure and all connected training platforms, including the installation, maintenance, and cybersecurity of cloud computing environments. They will also help develop new designs and security strategies across cloud-based applications and subsystems.
Responsibilities:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Participates in requirement sell-off and supplier support. Supports the RMF process and assists in maintaining system Authorizations to Operate (ATOs)
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: Must have a high school diploma and 9 years of applied technical cybersecurity experience. Will consider a bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field and 5 years of applied experience; or, a master's degree with 3 years of applied experience.
Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: Must have a high school diploma and 12 years of applied technical cybersecurity experience. Will consider a bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field and 8 years of applied experience; or, a master's degree with 6 years of applied experience.
Must have an active Top Secret Clearance, with a PR within last 5 years.
Must be able to obtain Special Program Access prior to onboarding and then maintain.
Must meet DoD 8140 certification and training requirements within 6 months of start.
Experience translating technical concepts and program information to others.
Understanding of planning, design, and implementation necessary to support multiple platforms across a cloud-based environment.
Demonstrated experience with deploying, configuring, and maintaining security tools such as ACAS, ESS (HBSS), ePO, and Splunk on Linux RedHat and Windows environments.
Demonstrated experience with vulnerability and compliance scanners such as Nessus and SCAP.
Understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), it’s processes and procedures including applicable documentation and security controls.
Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering and SysML.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hold Cybersecurity Industry Certification(s) (CAP, GLSC, CISSP, CASP CE or equivalent).
Hold multiple technical certifications (RHEL, Linux+, Cloud+ or similar).
Excellent communication (written and oral), negotiation and interpersonal skills necessary to support known systems engineering and cybersecurity activities/challenges working with engineering teams, management, customers, partners and government.
Experience both as a systems administrator and ISSE/ISSO/ISSM on a DoD Program.
Experience with Dell, Cisco, Palo Alto and other next generation switches and firewalls.
Experience in design or configuration of cloud solutions like Azure and AWS.
Demonstrated experience with MBSE SySML.
Systems Engineering and/or requirements engineering experience a plus.
Salary Range: $104,800.00 - $157,200.00Salary Range 2: $130,500.00 - $195,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
