Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Engineer Test with an Active Security Clearance to work with our talented Advanced Weapons team located in Northridge, CA,. This will be an on-site position.

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

The Special Test Equipment (STE) department needs an STE Lead for SiAW, CAPEX, and specific design, development, and production support projects.

This STE Lead duties will include:

Creation of initial cost proposals for the project based on prior actual costs of similar projects and engineering estimates of labor costs, material costs, and schedules

Creating the CAPEX request for each project

Defending and advocating for the project funding approval

Initial project execution planning

Forming the team required to execute the project

Managing the budget and schedule for on-time completion

Monthly status reporting to leadership on progress for each project

Completion of the project and successful deployment of depreciation

Creation of proposals for STE to support development and production of Government programs

Support contract negotiations internally and with the customer

Strong written and verbal skills

Excellent presentation skills

Ability to work well in a team environment

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer Test / level 3 :

Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the management of critical projects funded under company CAPEX and government contract proposals

Experience with Test Equipment

Experience managing the schedule and delegating tasks to team members.

Experience motivating teams and solving problems.

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

**Active Security Clearance

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Engineer Test / level 4 :

Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)

Minimum of 8 years of experience in the management of critical projects funded under company CAPEX and government contract proposals

Experience with Test Equipment

Experience managing the schedule and delegating tasks to team members.

Experience motivating teams and solving problems.

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Active Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (investigation completed within last 5 years)

Experience with Engineering development projects (electrical, mechanical, software)

Experience in cost proposals for CAPEX and Government contracts

Leading Engineering development teams

Developing recovery plans, if needed

Experience in testing electronics, technical leadership, problem-solving, and team collaboration.

Experience in project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Experience preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned engineering projects.

Experience managing the team effectively, delegating tasks, providing feedback and support, and ensuring that the team works together toward the project's success.

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $125,400.00Salary Range 2: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
