The Principal Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier and part quality, as well as developing improvement plans with suppliers to enhance quality performance and address deficiencies. The role involves early detection and involvement in quality issues during the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase. A comprehensive understanding of PCB and Assembly (PCBA) manufacturing processes, failure analysis, and effective supplier management is needed. Candidate will collaborate closely with internal engineering teams, suppliers, and other key stakeholders to drive continuous improvements in the quality, performance, and reliability of PCBA products.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Supplier Quality and is part of the Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance department located in Singapore and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Establish audit strategies, guidelines, and best practices for the entire supplier network, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements. Perform on site supplier visits to resolve complex quality issues and non-conformances. Exercise judgement based on analysis of multiple sources of information.
+ Maintaining, enforcing, sustaining, and continuously improving Supplier Quality Management processes. Serve as the lead Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), demonstrating Supplier Quality Management process during both internal and external audits. Embedding and implement DBS tools, (e.g. PSP, SW, TPI and etc) to address Supplier quality issues, ensuring continuous improvement and achieving sustainable results.
+ Approving and maintaining of assigned suppliers by performing supplier quality system assessments, monitoring supplier performance, and driving supplier corrective action and/or improvement activities. Initiate and lead projects related to supplier quality, actively engaging in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, including supplier qualification, First Articles, and the early detection of quality issues associated with supplier activities.
+ Perform routine supplier audit to ensure that quality standards comply with the customer requirements and regulatory standards. Drives failure analysis strategies to address systemic, recurring, or critical failures that have significant impact on product quality or production timelines.
+ Leads the communication of audit results to senior management and key stakeholders, recommending strategic actions to address root causes of quality issues and improve supplier performance. Establish agreement and standardize inspection methods, procedures, gauges and equipment required for all materials with suppliers on supplier quality. Also lead by example, serving as role model while providing mentoring and guidance to Supplier Quality senior/ engineers.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant Engineering discipline with at least 5 years of working experience, or Diploma in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant Engineering discipline with at least 8 years of working experience
+ Working experience in PCBA design/manufacturing industry is essential
+ Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with PCBA manufacturing processes, quality control and testing methods.
+ Understanding of QMS 9001, ISO13485, USFDA QSR/cGMP (21 CFR Part 820) and ISO14971 is considered anadded advantage.
+ Good understanding of metrology, measurement techniques, Inspection Methods, Equipment and engineering drawings
