Principal Systems Engineer - Reliability & Maintainability Engineer

As a Reliability and Maintainability Engineer, you will perform detailed analysis to establish reliability predictions, monitor equipment data for continuous validation of reliability predictions, and author reports summarizing your analysis. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product life cycle. This includes overseeing the Reliability & Maintainability effort for a program, being the subject matter expert for Reliability & Maintainability engineering design, and direct interaction and engagement with the customer. You'll also review engineering requirements, recommend tool and test equipment, and assist in the design and development of maintenance engineering and logistics support for engineering projects.

**Responsibilities:**
+ Leading the Reliability & Maintainability engineering effort
+ Performing reliability prediction calculations, management, and performance measurements
+ Producing critical item lists and reliability maintenance plans
+ Supporting testing and analysis needed to generate MTBF results
+ Developing Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System processes
+ Authoring all program Reliability & Maintainability CDRLs
+ Advising Engineering on all aspects of Reliability & Maintainability engineering
+ Communicating status of the Reliability & Maintainability engineering program to the customer
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience
+ Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
+ Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
+ Progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
+ Advanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
+ Advanced analytical skills
+ Extensive knowledge of Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) processes
+ Experience independently executing functional responsibilities for small to medium sized programs
+ Experience with creation of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and maintainability analyses (MTBF, MTTR, etc.)
+ Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative reliability and maintainability analyses
+ Experience with Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS)
+ **The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required**

+ Ability to independently execute functional responsibilities for large programs
+ Understanding of Military Specifications and Standards
+ Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
+ Experience improving reliability and maintainability through design changes, fault detection, usage restrictions, and training
+ Experience writing analyses to meet regulation- or customer-driven requirements
+ Experience tailoring analyses or requirements to fit size, complexity, schedule, and budget of program

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $165,010.21 - $226,889.04. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
