As the Principal Technical Program Manager for Tinder's Tools & Data pillar, you will lead Product, Design, and Engineering teams in executing against Tinder’s Tools & Data Roadmap, which includes Tinder’s experimentation platform, data analytics platform, design system, and CRM platform, as well as accessibility and privacy, compliance, and cybersecurity.
As a key strategic leader, you’ll leverage your experience to define and build operational excellence across the team. You will also serve as the expert for the Product Development Lifecycle as we continuously innovate, refine, and optimize our Tools & Data portfolio to enable our cross-functional teams to anticipate and serve the evolving needs of our expansive global members.
Where you’ll work: This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration three days per week. This position is located in Los Angeles, CA. We also have offices in San Francisco and Palo Alto.In this role, You Will:Partner with the Product, Design, Analytics, and Engineering teams in our Tools & Data Pillar to establish a shared vision, ensure continuous planning, and effectively execute against the Product Roadmap. Lead and serve as the change agent for operational best practices. Build and implement continuous improvement processes and frameworks that drive operational excellence for both the Tools & Data Pillar and the Engineering organization as a whole.Provide strategic leadership and thinking to the cross-functional team, using your technical understanding of Tinder, as well as your expertise in areas like A/B testing, data pipelines, services, and management, color and typography tokens, and push, email, segmentation, targeting, air traffic control, etc to help translate business objectives into technical problems, solutions, and programs aligned to company strategy. Own strategic alignment and engagement with key team members, including creating plans, managing risks, refining communication models, and optimizing the team operating model to ensure successful delivery of projects that benefit the business and deliver value to our users.Be the subject matter expert of Tinder’s Product Development Lifecycle Process (PDLC) and support the team through education, rollout, and iteration.Identify, build, and optimize reporting mechanisms to track and monitor progress against the roadmap as well as overall team effectiveness.Lead with empathy while communicating clearly and directly, build trust and leverage your ability to have direct conversations that are solution-oriented to move the team and products forward. You'll Need: 8-10 years of experience leading software product teams and operationsExperience with experimentation platforms and A/B testing, data analytics platforms, design systems, and CRM platforms, as well as accessibility and privacy, compliance, and cybersecurity–including developing training and support documentation to help drive employee adoption. Experience building PDLC and SDLC processes for technical organizations.Proven-ability to build strong relationships and influence across multifunctional organizations in a fast-paced environment where thoughtfulness, an entrepreneurial mindset, persistent execution, an ability to navigate ambiguity, and relationships drive success.Deep experience building roadmaps (including identifying trade-offs), dependency maps, release plans, and project plans.Expertise in agile methodologies and deep understanding of software development best practices.Extensive experience delivering high-visibility, major cross-functional and complex technical initiatives on a large-scale platform.Empathic leadership style that fosters a culture of continuous improvement and empowers innovative ideas across the entire team.Exposure to advanced product and program management techniques like User Story Mapping, Journey Mapping, Design Sprints, and Design Thinking.Understanding of system design and the ability to meaningfully contribute in technical discussions. TPMs are not expected to write or read code, but are expected to understand system flows, block architectures, APIs and such.Deep understanding of collaboration management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Google Suite, Figma, and Miro.
