Title and Summary
Principal Technical Program ManagerOVERVIEWAs a Technical Program Management Principal/Director, you will be working with Mastercard’s Engineering teams in support of a portfolio of engineering products delivery. The teams are responsible for developing the best of breed capabilities to enable Cloud and infrastructure provisioning and deployment, in alignment with industry best practices.
ROLE
Technical Program Management Principal/Director role serves as an Agile Release Train Engineer, a Servant-Leadership role, responsible for facilitating multiple product engineering teams within Agile delivery framework and communicating with various stakeholders. This role will also drive change management and adoption, to elevate Agile delivery execution.
Facilitate program level processes and execution.
Resolve Scrum Master escalations and impediments, partner and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Drive program delivery execution working with Product, Engineering, Technical Program Management Principal, and Scrum Master roles span multiple teams.
Accountable for delivery execution, report meaning status along the way and actively mitigate blockers.
Manage risks and issues escalation and help drive program level continuous improvements, technical solution alignment and development, and with BAU phases.
Develop a deep knowledge of our customers and stakeholders’ needs and priorities, to foster collaboration across teams and stakeholders’ representations.
Demonstrate effective communication skills and active involvement in technical matters to ensure all appropriate parties are engaged and in alignment with technical solution decisions with focus on driving customer value.
As a Technical Program Management Principal/Director, you should have demonstrated experience with:
Collaborate closely with Engineer Directors, Principals and Engineering VPs, in addition to Product Owners and Product Managers, and fellow Release Train Engineer to deliver high-quality products and features through iterative software delivery lifecycle, to build, test, and release on time.
Manage complex, technical, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish.
Collaborate with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
Take responsibility for release schedules and milestones, keeping up a high velocity across the program in a fast-paced environment.
Manage program level workflow, metrics, cross-team coordination, dependencies, impediments, risks (raid), escalations, and meetings.
Facilitate Program level retrospectives -- gather input, drive team collaboration and continuous improvement.
Works with Engineering Teams & Product Owner to present Release Demos.
Provide coaching and guidance to Technical Program Managers (Scrum Master) roles, to streamline overall delivery, with metrics driven/measurable improvements.
Adhere to Mastercard defined Rally/Jira data quality measurements and standard working with Product Engineering Teams and Product Owners.
Track delivery progress at product engineering team level, with line of sight on program scope delivery.
ALL ABOUT YOU
Demonstrated experience with leading multi-products/multi-workstream Agile execution. Managing multi-stakeholder program in a global organization or equivalent type organization.
Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy.
Guide multiple product engineering teams to break down problems, organizing work, work with Technical Program Managers (Scrum Masters) with planning sprints, to deliver technical programs in agile delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
Proven track record of data driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams.
Ability to communicate with executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity.
