Ingredion is hiring a Principal Technologist - Dairy & Dairy Alternatives to work with our Applications teams and be responsible for support multidisciplinary new product development and applied research projects.
This includes supporting our portfolio, developing new ingredients and solutions, publishing technical and go-to-market materials, overseeing preparation of customer prototypes and documentation, and supporting key customer projects.
As a Principal Technologist, Applications & Custom Solutions, your responsibilities will include:
Developing and furthering our Dairy and Dairy Alternatives strategy working with global and regional teams to identify and bring new ingredients to market. Support in Identifying current gaps and develop new capabilities and expertise.Develop relationships with customers in target markets and work with internal & external resources/partners to deliver formulated solutions and technical information to support customer projects globally. Work with go-to-market teams to understand project/market needs in growing sectors, define shared work plans, and gain support/input throughout project timelines.Develop new dairy and dairy alternative concepts leveraging ingredients and processes which can be applied regionally and globally. Use expertise to develop and commercialize new ingredients and technologies.Investigate and assess new ingredients and technologies available for product development improvements.Ensuring team designs and conductg appropriate experiments in the laboratory and pilot plant to advance projects to completion.Develop technical presentations to be presented at organization meetings and trade shows.Keep appropriate records to support IP strategy and develop patent applications. Conduct prior art searches (literature, patents) related to projects and stay abreast of Dairy and Dairy Alternative technology and external environment (market trends, IP landscape).Qualified candidates will have:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in food science, food Engineering, or a related discipline with solid hands-on experience in food formulation and strong understanding of food science principles. Demonstrated hands-on product development experience and knowledge in Dairy & Dairy Alternative Category Application segment (Yogurt & Fermented Milk products, Cheese, Ice Cream, Frozen Desserts, Ready-to-Drink Beverages, and their Plant-Based Alternatives)Experience in the scale-up and commercialization of consumer-packaged goods is highly desirable.Knowledge of ingredient selection and differentiation related to selecting and formulating with Starches, Hydrocolloids, Proteins, Specialty Sweeteners, Flavors, Enzymes, and Cultures regarding Dairy and Dairy Alternative applications.Ability to build capabilities in innovation and new product development to deliver excellence in food formulation. Excellent technical skills with the ability to support projects in the Dairy and Dairy Alternative Category within the Innovation and Go-to-Market communities.Flexible and adaptable, comfortable leading multiple projects concurrently.Curiosity and creativity with a customer-focused mindset Analytical and critical thinker with excellent business acumen and strong problem-solving skills.Ability to engage and build working relationships effectively with diverse stakeholders across functions and levels of the organization. Experience with SAP, Salesforce, and Formulation Management systems.#LI-MU1
Pay Range:
$81,680.00-102,100.00 Annual

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
