We have long been associated with many of the most significant advances in eye health, and we believe we are well positioned to continue leading the advancement of eye health in the future. **Objective:** This Principle Electrical Engineer will assist the Electrical Design manager of the medical device division of a major biomedical company. They will apply their knowledge of the principles of electrical and systems engineering with existing team members to coordinate and directly support the design and prototyping of new PCBs for cataract and vitreoretinal ophthalmic surgical equipment, while coordinating and communicating with the project managers. **Responsibilities:** • Assist Electrical Engineering Design Manager in day to day operation of the electrical design group. • Help drive team members in creation of PCB functional specifications. • Assist in reviewing PCB designs. • Coordinate PCB prototype construction, track progress and report status and projected timeline to project management. • Help drive team members board bring up and coach them through technical challenges. • Track PCB design issues in log form to closure. • Estimate resources and schedules for new designs and design changes in partnership with the project managers. • Work with procurement to facilitate rapid and efficient transfer and scale up of pilot production for PCBs **Requirements:** + Bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering, equivalent experience will be considered. + Minimum 15 years of experience in electronic design, testing of electronic circuitry, and experience bringing designs into production. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Advanced technical degree. + Successful candidate will be comfortable with embedded system PCB domains, including embedded microprocessors, basic analog and digital design, stepper motor drives, and sensor interfaces. + Experience with the Altium Designer electronic design package. + Experience with Orcad. + Experience with algorithm design, root cause analysis techniques, and technical writing. + 10+ years of experience in electronic design of medical products. + Lead Project Engineer or Project manager experience. **We offer competitive salary & excellent benefits including:** + Medical, Dental, Eye Health, Disability and Life Insurance begins on your hire date + 401K Plan with company match and ongoing company contribution + Paid time off – vacation (3 weeks - prorated upon hire), floating holidays and sick time + Employee Stock Purchase Plan with company match + Employee Incentive Bonus + Tuition Reimbursement (select degrees) + Ongoing performance feedback and annual compensation review All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
