Overview Packaging R&D Manager to drive the PepsiCo Foods North America business agenda, utilizing technical expertise and leadership to ensure continued growth and profitability through new product and packaging development, commercialization and execution focused on packaging performance, environmental sustainability, quality and cost. This position is based out of our Plano, TX HQ - *Domestic relocation is available for this position Responsibilities Understand the business and consumer needs to proactively drive technology, systems and best practices to build superior brand performance. Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Purchasing and Finance to create new business opportunities as well as lead development of packaging solutions for established projects to help grow and evolve the business. Represent Packaging function in business leadership meetings, accountability for setting agenda, results and strategy within packaging for BU. Manage and prioritize packaging development activities to deliver AOP innovation for North America and establish technical roadmap for future innovation. Demonstrate strong cross functional collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams at a local, regional and global level. Sound technical knowledge in food packaging and manufacturing technologies is needed along with effective communication skills and the ability to build strong business relationships. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: BS in Packaging Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics Engineering or equivalent 8+ years work experience within food/beverage packaging Working knowledge of TOPS or equivalent software Prior work experience in the development and execution of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials and have knowledge of the interrelationship with equipment. Which includes understanding of packaging substrates(glass, resin-based rigids, flexible, paper) Prior experience with vendor relationships to influence alternative supplier considerations. Prior experience with technical stage gate process, ability to create package development plan and manage timelines and budgets across all projects. Must be able to travel 15-25%: domestic travel Preferred Requirements: Strong people leadership skills demonstrating strategic thinking, clear setting of strategies and project scopes. Strong project management skills in developing project timelines with multiple cross-functional touch points. Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and persuasion skills. Strong conceptual, analytical and technical ability with excellent presentation skills. Must demonstrate an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and consumer driven environment. Compensation & Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $102,800 - $172,100. Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
