Principal Software Development Manager - Firmware & Embedded Systems

We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Development Manager to lead and grow our Firmware and Embedded Systems engineering teams. In this role, you will drive technical excellence and innovation while managing multiple teams developing embedded software solutions and firmware for our next-generation devices.

Key job responsibilities
Lead and mentor multiple software development teams specializing in firmware and embedded systems
Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions for complex embedded systems projects
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product roadmaps and technical requirements
Establish best practices for embedded software development, testing, and deployment
Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and team growth
Partner with senior leadership to align technical initiatives with business objectives

A day in the life
Lead daily stand-ups and team coordination meetings
Review and provide technical guidance on code reviews and architecture decisions
Mentor team members and provide career development support
Collaborate with product managers on roadmap planning and execution
Monitor team performance metrics and project progress
Participate in technical design reviews and architecture discussions
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Hardware, QA, Product)
Review and approve technical specifications
Manage team priorities and resource allocation
Address technical escalations and remove team blockers
Contribute to hiring and team growth initiatives
