Role description:    Our Buildings business has a growing pipeline of work on the horizon across VIC and NSW which has created an opportunity for a Principal Structural Engineer to join our Melbourne or Sydney based team to deliver projects across the buildings and infrastructure sectors.   Role accountabilities:   Delivery of full structural design on significant building projects Proactively managing selected projects (or components of projects), taking responsibility for resource allocation, and ensuring the integrity of the overall design (in collaboration with other design disciplines); Manage packages of work in re-development and upgrade of existing buildings, new builds and complex structures;  Seeking new opportunities through project work by building on and creating new working relationships;  Providing direction to the project team and promoting awareness of technical and commercial risk assessments and mitigation and best value design options; and Collaborating with other teams in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment. Qualifications & Experience:   

First and foremost, you share our passion for improving quality of life. You are a seasoned structural engineering professional with strong industry ties and demonstrated credibility in a design consulting environment. You will come to us with: 

Demonstrated experience in structural design for extreme cold weather climates and/or design for remote construction;  Substantial experience using ETABs, RAPT and SPACEGASS (or similar) Design Software, additional demonstration of other program knowledge would be useful as would familiarity with Revit Demonstrated technical, commercial and delivery acumen, managing inter-disciplinary design interfaces and/or projects;  Ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegation skills;  Proven experience in delivery of medium to large scale projects to clients through all project phases; and Engineering degree with Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation; post-graduate qualifications an advantage.   Why Arcadis?
