Print Operator Location: Urbandale, IA (onsite) Duration: 6 months Description: They need to have operated machine printers and experience with InfoPrint, Client, Ricoh and Client is very valuable. These candidates are standing at the printer. They need to know how to load the printer, change the ink, operate the printer-understand the machine not just the functions of the printer. Purpose Provide leaders and employees with information about the functions and requirements needed to perform the job. This must be read in conjunction with individual goals or competencies. This job description is used to evaluate the job and provide information for external interviews and internal postings Job Purpose Provides a general summary of the job. Under general supervision, perform basic document/mail equipment operator tasks; utilizing appropriate systems/tools and resources efficiently and effectively. Responsible for producing high quality outputs while meeting timing and productivity expectations. Organize work and achieve pre-defined performance standards on tasks. Perform project work as needed. Essential Functions % of Time Spent Operate document/mail equipment to produce high quality output while meeting timing and productivity standards. Utilize appropriate tools, systems and resources to perform necessary tasks. Receive and process work requests from various entry points and formats and adhere to priority levels. Accurate application handling and equipment set up based on job specifications. Correctly transfer of work to the next production step. 60% Track, record, and document manual and automated document/mail jobs processed through various means of input. Log and monitor performance results. Communicate progress, barriers and/or issues to the production lead or management in a timely manner. 15% Cross train on other equipment, systems, and functions in the department. 10% Resolve basic equipment issues such as machine warning messages, paper jams, and inconsistent quality output. Perform basic maintenance on equipment as required 10% Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required. 5% Qualifications Provide prompt, courteous and excellent service at an acceptable cost to all customers; operate in an ethical manner in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, the company's Corporate Code of Ethics, employee handbook, applicable compliance and operations policies and procedures, and other policies of the company. Possess a high degree of integrity and actively cooperate and interact with all entities of the Principal Financial Group. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years work experience preferred. Must be able to operate print equipment. Good oral and written communication, problem-solving, and basic math and computers skills required. Must have time-management, decision-making, prioritization and organizational skills. Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality and pay strict attention to detail. Must be flexible in workflow tasks and able to effectively follow directions and procedures. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of people in a team atmosphere required. Must be well organized and able to multi-task and manage to deadlines. Must be detail oriented and have good customer service skills. Must have an ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment. Must be able to lift and carry 70 lbs. or less, and pull and push up to 800 pounds., repetitively reach overhead and handle repetitive tasks. Must be able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time. This position requires successful completion of a criminal history check.
