Pay: $26.12/hr
Shifts: Rotating Days (6am - 6pm) & Nights (6pm - 6am)
The schedule is on a 4 week rotation between nights and days:
Week 1: Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Week 3: Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 4: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Reporting to the Process Leader, this position is responsible for supplying the customer with high resolution graphics and material that consistently meets their expectations through the efficient operation of equipment.

What you will be doing:

Must always work safely, following all Plant and Division Safety Rules and Policies.Perform all job function in accordance with specified safety procedures and designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).Proficiency in Press II, III, IV and Press Floater classifications.Direct the duties of press operators assigned to the press in press leader’s absence.Set the standard for excellence in product quality.Train and demonstrate best techniques for running the press.Ensure product quality meets all customer requirements.Set departmental priorities.  Schedule according to job schedule, according amounts needed for job completion and according to available personnel, including relief for breaks.Change direction of the unwind splicing group.Set up cohesive printing unit and pumping station.Set burners and heats according to amounts of ink or coating coverage.Use air gap and doctor blade angle to control haze.Adjust heats and tensions for repeat.Set up Grafikontrol according to job specifications.Set and use web guide.Change impression roll sleeves.Web the press with or without the treater.Perform automatic changeover and manual registration.Register job accurately.Set nips and impression rollers.Set and level impression rollers.Set auto viscosity and program ink specifications.Charge and reject rolls.Flag rolls correctly.Daily flow checks of the Mahr Meter Mix.Operate forklift as required.Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to the spirit of total quality and continuous improvement in performing the essential job functions of the position.Performs other duties assigned or as the situation may dictate.

Ability to provide direction and motivate department employees in a fast-paced environment.Ability to maintain logs and records in a legible, accurate and timely manner.   Ability to use scales, densitometer, zahn cup, x-rite and other equipment to mix/measure inks.Must adhere to high standards of professionalism when dealing with co-workers and Management on a daily basis.   Must demonstrate desire, ability and initiative to advance in department progression.   Must demonstrate basic computer skills. Must have or had forklift certification.Requires up to (50) pounds of force occasionally and /or up to (50) pounds of force frequently and/or up to (20) pounds of force consistently to move/lift objects. Visual acuity is required to distinguish color shades, to approve ink color, to verify registration and to spot minor product flaws; color perception is essential.
