Printer Repair Technician
Overview ***This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP*** The Printer Repair Technician applies understanding and knowledge of information systems hardware and software to provide problem resolution, problem diagnosis and solutions in a service center environment; clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly professional manner. Responsible for recognizing, researching, isolating, and resolving first level information systems problems for appropriate service, repairs, training and follow-up. The printer technician installs new printers, configure printers on network, maintain and ensures the proper function of standalone printers, scanners or Network Printers. The Printer Technician takes care of the regular and routine repairs including replacements such as new ink cartridges. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Fault finding and repairing all kind of printers from multiple vendors such as Hewlett Packard, Lexmark, Dell, Brother, Canon, Epson, Samsung, Panasonic, Minolta, Sony, Kyocera, Sharp, Okidata, Ricoh, Xerox, IBM and Tektronix. Repairing, installing, and configuring digital senders, plotters, and scanning machines (Flatbed Scanner Machines and MFP Scanner Machines) and copy machines. Connecting, installing, and configuring a multitude of network printers as well as repairing ID card capable multifunction printers. Troubleshooting, replacing, and maintaining electronic components such as SCR, transistors, capacitors, resistors, bridge rectifiers and various fuses. Performs Job Duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Secret Clearance Electronics diploma or equivalent work experience HP certification is desirable. Must be a U.S. Citizen A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License is required. CompTIA A+ is preferred. Experience: In addition to excellent oral and written communications skills, the ideal candidate should have the ability to provide technical software, hardware, and network problem resolution, make independent decisions by performing question/problem diagnosis in a Help Desk environment. Ability to document, research, identify, and attempt to solve technical problems on initial call and/or triage where appropriate for resolution. Three years or more related experience Proven ability to build relationships with all levels of the organization and to communicate effectively with senior and department leaderships, also clerical staff Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot systems hardware and software issues to full resolution Strong customer service experience Handle technical, escalations and sensitive situations Prior satisfactory job performance Skills: DoD Information Assurance Awareness Training (https://ia.gordon.army.mil/dodiaa/) Fort Gordon Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO) Training (https://ia.gordon.army.mil/iaso/) CompTIA A+ preferred Working Conditions: Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. Physical Requirements: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
