Amcor is currently searching for individuals to join our Asheville plant as a Press Operator! (see details below)

SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

Monday - Thursday day shift (7am-7pm)

PRESS OPERATOR OVERVIEW:

The Press Operator supports the operation of the Primary Department.  They will operate a rotogravure, 6-color press in a safe and controlled manner that will ensure the safety of others and the quality of products being made.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Perform setup and operate rotogravure press to produce product according to quality and productivity requirementsDistinguish quality colors while running job and setupTroubleshoot equipment, web handling, production and printing issuesFollow all safety rules and proper chemical handling processesInspect quality and identify and correct defectsFollow documentation procedures and ensure paperwork is completeAssist in training other personnelEnsures material meets customer requirements throughout the runAssumes responsibility for the quality and quantity produced on the machineProvide communication on a daily basis with management, maintenance, shift personnel, etc.Maintain housekeeping standards of the press and the surrounding areaAnticipates and reacts productively to changes, and willingly handles other tasks as assignedSeeks and implements improvement activities through teamwork and CI Process participation

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

Three years of web handling experience, two years of rotogravure press experience, and process printing setup/run experience preferred.Knowledge of troubleshooting complex color and process printing problems.Proficiency in detecting and solving quality issues, with strong mechanical aptitude.Effective communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.Proficiency with computers and ability to learn additional programs.Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.Adequate visual acuity and ability to distinguish accurate colors.Knowledge of safety precautions and skilled in operating tools and test equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lift and manipulate up to 50 lbs.Stand for long periods in ESD-rated steel-toed shoes.Perform physical tasks like climbing, crouching, and reaching during machine operation.
