Description:

*Work from home potential after training period* 

Under pharmacist and nursing supervision, supports the outpatient pediatric gastroenterology department in one or more of the following areas: coordination of prior authorizations for prescribed medication to include oral, injection, or IV routes.  Duties may include working with insurance companies, families and providers via various methods of communication: electronically, in the medical record, by fax, and by phone.  Authorizations, denials and appeals will be coordinated by this role and will require detailed organization and some medical background. Will also help maintain the med list of patients as needed and could include being able to send refills requests electronically.  This position will be work from home after a training and orientation period of at least 3 months, at supervisors' discretion. 

High School Diploma/GED is required.    Requires Indiana Pharmacy Tech-In Training OR Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.    Requires Pharmacy Technician National Certification within one year of hire unless enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy or enrolled in or graduated from an ASHP/ACPE accredited Pharmacy Technician training program.    Requires the absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.    Requires strong mathematical calculation skills. Requires ability to learn basic pharmacy technician skills in assigned areas and work under close supervision or under clearly defined procedures. Requires ability to learn effective written and communication skills.    Requires ability to learn and execute customer services skills. Requires basic proficiency typing and using Microsoft office applications.
