MN Urology is currently seeking a full time Prior Authorization Coordinator\n

Position is located in our Robbinsdale, MN clinic\n

Monday-Friday\n

Regular Daytime Hours, No Evenings, No Weekends, No Holidays!\n

The Prior Authorization\/Pre-Certification Coordinator is responsible for performing prior authorizations, pre-certifications for surgeries, pre-collecting funds as appropriate, and other office procedures as necessary.\n
\n

JOB DESCRIPTION:\n\nResponsible for performing prior authorizations and pre-certifications for surgeries, other office procedures as necessary, and pre-collecting funds as appropriate. \nAssist patients in obtaining prior authorizations and pre-certifications.\nServes as a resource for staff and physicians regarding prior authorization and pre-certification policies and procedures.\nAttends various meetings and enhances professional development and growth on a regular basis; makes recommendations for revision and\/or new departmental procedures under the direction of the supervisor.\nIncorporates the use of technology. Completes pre-certification and prior authorizations online as required.\nRemains up to date on the areas of coding and new codes.\nMaintains insurance knowledge.\nCommunicate effectively and compassionately with patients. Communicate effectively with staff, management, and physicians.\nAssists with backup duties in the Business Office as needed.\nOther duties as assigned. \n\n

EDUCATION\/TRAINING\/LICENSURE:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nCoding coursework and knowledge required\nGood computer skills required.\nMinimum of one-year customer service or reception experience, preferably in a medical office environment.\nKnowledge of Athena Medical Practice Management System preferred, but not required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite helpful, but not required.\nTwo years of experience working with various insurances. Required\nPrior experience in Prior Authorization\/Pre-certification preferred.\n\n
