WHERE YOU WILL WORK

The Legal group at Bain is a team of experienced lawyers across the globe who work closely together to support the firm.   Bain is a deeply client-focused organization, and our team is equally focused on maintaining the highest possible client-service standards with our own internal clients. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented privacy lawyer to join our dynamic team.  This role will form part of the Privacy team within the Legal group and can be based in any of our offices located in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, or Washington DC.  


 


WHAT YOU’LL DO 

You will draft, review and negotiate privacy-related documents such as data processing agreements and data protection clauses within larger client and vendor agreementsYou will provide day-to-day counseling on a broad range of privacy matters within Bain You will assist in drafting and updating privacy-related policies, guidelines and trainingYou will ensure Bain’s compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations, including but not limited to GDPR, CCPA, LGDP and other relevant lawsYou will identify and assess potential privacy risks and provide recommendations to mitigate those risksYou will support the team on other privacy compliance matters, e.g., data protection impact assessments and data subject requests 

 

 

 

ABOUT YOU 

A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, admission to the bar in at least one US state, and 3+ years’ privacy experience in a law firm or in-house setting is required.

 

Familiarity with US data protection laws (e.g., CCPA, HIPAA) and international privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR)Strong legal drafting and negotiation skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated, highly organized, articulate, detail oriented and hard workingAbility to work independently, but within a team-focused environmentBusiness fluency in English  

 

CIPP/US or other relevant privacy certification is preferred. Also, experience in servicing global clients, experience using privacy compliance platforms is also highly preferred. Additional language capabilities, particularly Spanish and/or Portuguese is desired but not required. 

 

 

U.S. Compensation Information

 

In Washington D.C, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $142,000 - $170,000 placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level 

 

For all other locations, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is commensurate with competitive geographic market rates for this role and will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level 

 

Annual discretionary performance bonus  

 

 This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation
