**Primary Function/General Purpose of Position**
The Privacy Program Manager conducts audits and develops and implements corrective and preventive measures to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations to enhance the corporate culture of regulatory compliance. Tracks and assesses privacy incidents for breaches and reports to appropriate regulatory agencies. Will manage sensitive and confidential information and materials in support of the corporate compliance program
**Essential Job Functions**
+ __ Coordinates privacy investigations and collection of data as per Privacy work plan and day-to-day operations. Ensures privacy issues are documented, reported, and tracked through resolution.
+ Assists with OCR and other federal/state regulatory reporting.
+ Utilizes data analytics techniques and databases developed internally, or in conjunction with other third-party vendors to detect and trend potential privacy compliance issues.
+ Conducts privacy education for staff and physicians.
+ Makes recommendations for and assists in the development of Corrective Action Plans (CAP) and oversight tools to support operational efforts. Assists in tracking of all activities related to CAP.
+ Acts as resource for privacy policy development, socialization, and other general inquiries.
+ Maintains awareness of regulations and current industry changes that may impact healthcare services through personal initiative, continuing education, and peer-to-peer networking.
+ Performs other job duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

**Licensing/Certification**
Within 12 months of hire, a privacy related certification such as, Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) must be obtained, if not already acquired.
**Education**
Bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred.
In lieu of a degree, 8 years of professional experience in auditing, legal, compliance, and other healthcare positions can substitute for a higher degree.
**Work Experience**
5-7 years of in-depth experience working within healthcare operations or compliance related activities. Protenus (or other similar product) experience preferred.

**Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**
Requires full range of body motion, manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and corrected vision and hearing to the normal range. May require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires prolonged sitting, frequent walking, standing, bending/stooping, and stretching. Requires the ability to communicate effectively, to perform under stressful conditions, to work in and travel among all the RSFH work sites and from time to time to be able to travel out of the area by ground or air transportation.
**Skills**
_Hard/Tech/Clinical Skills_ _:_
+ Strong understanding of health care regulations related to patient privacy and protection of confidential information.
+ Technical knowledge of privacy concepts, confidential information internal controls and safeguards, technologies, and applicable rules and regulations.
+ Ability to investigate and collect relevant facts including researching applicable policies, regulations, or laws. Must be proficient with using technology.
_Soft/Interpersonal Skills:_
+ Requires a high level of interpersonal, problem solving, and analytic skills.
+ Must be detail oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and partner with internal and external stakeholders.
