Privacy Program Manager

We are looking for a Privacy Program Manager that thrives in a fast-paced and challenging environment. In this role, you will build out Rubrik’s privacy compliance and controls framework, drive continuous improvement and strengthen Rubrik’s controls without placing an undue burden on the business. Furthermore, you will interface with departments including information security, engineering and product to position the company to meet regulatory requirements and to ensure Rubrik continues to support the dynamic data protection environment. This position is based in Palo Alto, CA.

Where you can make an impact:

Drive and support privacy programs that meet global legal requirements. Lead, coordinate and manage internal and external assessments of Rubrik’s privacy program and processes. Manage internal privacy processes such as subject access requests, data records of processing activities, and privacy impact assessments. Develop, update and maintain privacy documentation such as privacy notices and policies. Collaborate with business owners to prioritize projects and solutions to reduce privacy risk and improve compliance. Review new product features and designs and provide guidance on requirements impacting Rubrik’s privacy compliance framework. Provide expertise and work across groups and disciplines to improve privacy by design in Rubrik’s products and services. Ensure operating effectiveness of privacy policies and controls. Perform risk assessments relating to the privacy program, working with the team to implement mitigation strategies. Accurately and effectively communicate about Rubrik’s privacy program to customers. Educate and train process owners about privacy and data protection.

Ideal background & experience:

8 -10+ years of work experience in Privacy, Risk, IT Audit, or Technical Program Management. Experience with regional privacy requirements throughout Asia, Europe, and the US and negotiating data protection agreements with customers and vendors. Subject matter experience with privacy and data protection measures, including regulations such as GDPR and CCPA. Knowledge of compliance methods, standards, processes, governance models, and industry standard compliance frameworks. Demonstrated experience in developing and managing a privacy compliance program that balances risk and the needs of the business. Experience with Software-as-a-Service or cloud service providers industry challenges. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate privacy concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff. Demonstrated success working with internal audit, external auditors, outside consultants, and legal outside counsel. Equally comfortable working with other members of the team, as well as independently. Strong technical foundation to be able to develop Rubrik privacy program best practices based on compliance requirements and Rubrik systems and processes. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver quality work to deadlines CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, CISSP, or other related certifications
