Private Debt Fundraising and Marketing Associate

Business Overview:

NB Private Debt is a rapidly growing group within Neuberger Berman Alternatives with approximately $14 billion of AUM. NB Private Debt focuses on performing first lien, senior secured loans to U.S. private equity-owned companies.

Position Overview:

The Private Debt Fundraising and Marketing Associate will be part of and work closely with the 20-person Private Debt investment team in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. The Fundraising and Marketing Associate will have constant interaction with senior members of the team and firm. The position provides an opportunity to be an early entrant into a rapidly growing business with significant career momentum and growth. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Liaise with investment teams, sales, legal, finance, operations, and compliance teams to:

address investor questions and requests

submit requests for proposals and due diligence questionnaires

service existing Limited Partner relationships

facilitate meetings and due diligence sessions for prospects

manage the closing process for new and existing investors

regularly update marketing presentations, teasers, and other informational documents

draft legal documents with outside counsel

Work with internal teams to provide frequent communication and updates during the fund raise to the NB sales force as well as externally to prospects and Limited Partners

Manage public exposure through our annual meeting, conferences, databases and seminars

Join calls with investment team and prospects and spearhead any relevant follow-ups

Write quarterly / annual and other market letters to Limited Partners

Facilitate quarterly valuation committees by working with the investment and finance teams

Other ad hoc projects on an as-needed basis

Experience & Skills Qualifications:

Excellent academic credentials with at least two years of work experience

Entrepreneurial inclination, strong work ethic with a willingness to “roll up their sleeves”

High intellectual curiosity to learn the asset class and business

Strong quantitative, marketing and visual presentation abilities

Flexibility to take on various projects and responsibilities as needed

Remarkable attention to detail

Initiative and creativity in approach to problem solving and process management

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Highly skilled at PowerPoint presentations and Excel; willing to learn internal systems and databases

Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced and high-intensity environment

Team player with a collaborative attitude and a desire to contribute to the growth of the business

Ability to manage your projects from beginning to end and meet critical deadlines

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $110,000-$160,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
