Private Equity Group Secondary Associate

As a Private Equity professional within our “ Alternatives team ” , you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm. You will engage broadly in various areas of private equity, but primarily focus on secondaries and contribute to all aspects of the secondary deal process. You will develop and share your thoughtful

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Screening, and conducting due diligence on private equity secondary transactions, leveraging the team's robust GP network and broader private capital networkParticipate in evaluation and analysis of secondary transactions and assets across stages (i.e. buyout, venture, growth equity, etc.), industries and geographiesPrepare and present due diligence materials and investment committee memosConstruct an opinion around various investment opportunities and efficiently communicate it both verbally and in written materialsManage relationships with private equity sponsors, intermediaries, advisors (financial, legal, commercial) and other investors to perform due diligence and execute transactions

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

 

At least 4 years of experience working in secondaries, investment banking, accounting or other relevant fieldStrong analytical skills, including valuation and financial analysis, for evaluating and underwriting secondary transactionsAbility to evaluate risk/reward trade-offs, and an ability to display sound investment judgementStrong technical skills, including Excel modeling, to build financial models and presentations Self-starter with ability think creatively when evaluating and progressing opportunitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing and presenting investment memos and reports to investment committee and senior leadershipAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks, and maintaining attention to detail Promote and demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude, with desire to develop

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

CFA and/or MBA a plus, but not a requirementExperience operating within a small team a plusKnowledge of CapIQ and other sources of financial data

 

 

Location: Mumbai

Shift Timing: EMEA (2.30pm to 11.30pm)
